Poem: This Joy


You bring me joy

I can’t even play coy

Such a delight

To highlight

Such a rapture

One glance and I am captured

What cheer you brought with you into the world

You smile and I see your teeth

Fills me up and I know this is mean’t to be

Contentment comes to stay

Walking in my healing day after day

Faithfulness that doesn’t let my joy sway

So on today looking into this mirror

I can see you much clearer

Every scar is now decoration

A testament that I would make it

This is no ploy

You bring me joy

Loving you feeds my soul

Softened the places once rejected and cold

Out with the old

In with the new or so, I’ve been told

I see the seeds that I have sown

Once rendered desolate

A beautiful harvest now a definite
