Poem: No Reply

e1d3eda0e4dc92de91f7f210bef6e4fb
Reaching from a distance
It was in this is instant
I realized
Staying present is a prize
I could calculate the ways
Write a million essays
What I left behind wasn’t meant to be
Could I live this life living beyond what I see
Taking leaps to kick fear out my space
Look in the mirror and recognize my face
Failed attempts to conform
My gifts don’t fit the social norm
Died a thousand deaths to be reborn
Its how I know that our paths are predetermined
This isn’t a sermon
Me on a soapbox
Or even typing random words on a laptop
Where the past is I cannot go
So when you hit send I will not flow
No reply
No goodbye
I cannot be in spaces I don’t belong
Save your messages they won’t reach my home
Who I once was is completely gone
No reply
I won’t comply
